What is G Fuel?
G Fuel is a natural energy drink, or as the founders like to call it, an “energy formula.” The drink quickly became the official Esports energy drink due to its brain-and-focus enhancing ingredients.
While G Fuel stands for “Game Fuel,” it’s not confused with Game Fuel’s drink by mountain dew. They are totally different drinks!
I watch streamers play WarZone now and then, like StoneMountain64, and he often drinks and talks about G Fuel. So when I saw a Game Fuel can in my local gas station, I thought, heck yeah! Only to be disappointed with what seemed to be just a really sugary drink… Unknowingly, I had bought a can of Mountain Dew’s Game Fuel rather than a can of G Fuel.
G Fuel comes in both drink mixes as well as carbonated drinks (my favorite). G Fuel is made to enhance your energy and focus levels. What makes G Fuel different from the other dozens of energy drinks, like Red Bull, Monster, Rockstar, and so on?

What’s the biggest con of the average energy drink? Sugar, and with that comes that dreaded crash feeling. So how is G Fuel any different?
It’s sugar-free. While that’s not unique, as most energy drinks have a sugar-free version, it actually tastes good! Rather than sugar, G Fuel contains sucralose. Sucralose is among the best types of artificial sweeteners.

My personal G Fuel experience review
After learning that G Fuel is not Mountain Dew’s “Game Fuel,” I went to gfuel.com to see what they have. I bought:

- The build your own box with Cotton Candy, Blue Ice, and Sour Blue Chug Rug drink mixes.
The carbonated drinks
Since I was used to drinking carbonated energy drinks, the carbonated G Fuel cans were an easy transition. While they did not pop with flavor as much Red Bull or Rockstar, I felt like that was OK since G Fuel contains 0 sugar. It gave me that sense of “Hey, you’re drinking something healthier here, don’t be so picky.”
The drink mixes
At first, the drink mixes were alright, in my opinion. I have never really been a fan of drink mixes. The lack of carbonation didn’t feel the same. Needless to say, the carbonated drinks vanished first.
As I was starting to near the end of my drink mixes, I had actually grown to like them more. Not so much cause they taste wonderful, although they do taste pretty good. But mainly by how G Fuel made me feel.
3-month user review
It enhances my focus and energy without that unwanted jittery feeling, as I’ve experienced when drinking a few Bang or C4 energy drinks. Additionally, I did not get that “crash” feeling afterward either.
I’m by no means a morning person. I roll out of bed at around 10 am, and I’m not fully functioning until around 11-11:30 am. But with G Fuel, I feel more energized, yet not like my heart will explode. I feel more focused, yet not abnormal. Truth be told, I feel great!
So as I was nearing the end of my G Fuel drink mixes, I went to Amazon and bought a tub of G Fuel Fazeberry. Mainly because I have Prime, so I’ve grown used to free 2-day shipping.
Honestly, I feel like the tubs are overall better than the drink mixes. I don’t know if they are more “fresh” or if they are made different. But now that I’m nearing the end of my tub (it’s lasted me well over a month so far, by the way), I will definitely be ordering another one.
Truth be told, I no longer desire other energy drinks. Sure a Red Bull tastes good, but why consume a ton of sugar and experience a crash feeling when I have something so much healthier available, without the side effects?

G Fuel Powder Mix vs. Carbonated Drinks
If you want to try G Fuel, you’ll have two options. The powder mix and carbonated drinks. So what’s the difference, other than one being carbonated?
Price. The powder mix is much more forgiving on your wallet. The 12 can variety pack, for example, costs $31.99. Add shipping and tax, and you’re looking at around $2.80 per can when you buy it online. The powder mix, on the other hand, is available for less than $1 per serving. A 40 serving container is available for $35.99 on G Fuel’s website and $29.99 on Amazon.
Ingredients. While the ingredients vary in most flavors, I’ve noticed that the powder mix contains way more vitamins and other focus and energy enhancing ingredients than the carbonated drink does.

As I am writing this article, there are a whopping 20 flavors of G Fuel available! A few of the flavors are inspired by professional gamers.
The current best-selling flavor is Fazeberry, and it’s inspired by, you guessed it, FaZe Clan, a professional group of gamers. As far as my personal best G Fuel flavor, I would have to agree with Fazeberry. It’s a simple, yet great flavor.

I heard there’s lead in G Fuel?!
There are indeed traces of lead in G Fuel. How much, well, even though California sued g Fuel for not having a warning label, the amount was never published.
But, likely, the lead contents are nothing to worry about.
